Article: 2022 Joint Base Andrews Air & Space Expo

Mid September in Maryland has a late-summer warmth and an early autumn sun, perfect for photography. That’s when the 2022 air show and open house occurred at Joint Base Andrews, located in Camp Springs, Maryland. Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the U.S. Air Force, the event had plenty of Air Force aircraft on display, plus a number of other military and civilian aircraft and gtround dispalys to take in and enjoy.

Air Force aircraft on dispalay included some legacy aircraft soon to be retired, as well as a few very new airframes.

New HH-60W Jolly Green II rescue helicopter based at Pope AFB, NC

1st Helicoter Squadron UN-1N “Huey” will reportedly retire the type in two years, this one was built in 1969.

This Air Force reserve KC-135R Stratotanker was built in 1957… and based at Andrews AFB
